Mural Tribute to Gaudí in Barcelona-Spain
“If nature is the work of God, and if architectural forms are derived from nature, then the best way to honor God is to design buildings based on his work.” Antoni Gaudí A mural-tribute in the city that elected him as one of the brightest architects of all time. Barcelona-Spain

The first illustrated school in Greece
We all admire the brilliancy of ancient civilizations. We visit museums, watch documentaries, read books. What is it though that instigates this admiration? In my opinion, this “something” is Art. Art was a vital ingredient in the life of the ancient people, from the moment they were born, to the moment they died, and even beyond, to the art decorated grave. Art was not just the artist’s medium of self-expression. It was also an important factor in the molding of the ethos of the society, and had an historiographic and didactic character. When I was asked to paint the big wall of the 58th Primary School of Athens, I accepted less than one condition: that I will be allowed to redevelop artistically the entirety of the courtyard area. I saw in this proposal the opportunity to realize my vision, albeit in a small scale. This vision does not dictate the revival of ancient Art so much as it encompasses the philosophical principles that govern it. In this spirit I chose themes that have their roots in ancient Greek myths, and teach values such as honesty, solidarity, curiosity and willingness to learn. According to mythology, Hermes was the first teacher of […]

Fallen Angels-New solo exhibition in Turin, Italy
In Greek language, “Angel” is “the one that brings a good message”. Even so, we tend to love angels more for their wings. We believe that, if we had these wings, we wouldn’t fall, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually or somatically. However, even angels fall, eventhough they have wings. Angels, being free, just like we are free, “bend to their opinion” and “mortal by nature” according to st John of Damascus, are able to rise spiritually, to fall, even to die. The most well know example of an angel falling is that of Eosphoros, but many followed him. In the present exhibition fallen angels are presented, not attending their known histories, but evoked through my imagination. They are beings similar to us, created by soil and colour. Beings suffering from passions and weaknesses. This work reflects my inner world through a recent difficult personal period. Emotions that my mind’s angels, my imaginary friends, also experienced through me. Violence, pain, anger, sadness, exhaustion, desperation, darkness. All those things that we are afraid to confront and interpret. And we so spend the unique chance to knowledge and penance through experience. We detest mistakes because we do not understand their value. We have not learned […]

ETH Zürich Project-Switzerland
“ETH Zurich” is the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (Switzerland). It was established in 1855 and it is one of the most important universities in the world. In its long history are 21 nobels which have been given to its professors or students, one of them was Albert Einstein) and the most recent was Richard F. Heck in 2010. The project concerns murals carried out in five floors of the “Building of the Institute of Computational Science” (CLT of Mechanical Engineering). As science, apparently, little (if any) is associated with Byzantine art, the choice of subjects proved a really complex issue. Eventually, after studying, monitoring the lessons of the department and a number of discussions with the teacher and manager of the building, the main sources of my inspiration (Byzantium and mythology-history of ancient Greece) subsumed physics, mathematics, the history of Switzerland and studies of this department concerning the behavior of fluids (air, water, etc.) Thus arose the following topics. At the ground floor, as a Greek “welcome”, there is a visual version of Greek poet Elytis’s quote that says: “If you decompose Greece, in the end you will be remained with an olive tree, a vine and […]

New mural in Querétaro-Μexico
This mural was painted for the Board Dripper festival in Querétaro, Mexico. The theme of this year’s festival is the Nomads (Nómada). The meaning of the word is interwoven with the concept of the wanderer because they do not have a permanent homeland. But does being wanderers make them “foreigners” as the natives perceive them to be? In my mural I illustrate a nomadic tribe in a symbolic way. I focus on the universal values and emotions that are common everywhere instead of the material goods they carry. For example, a young couple hugging symbolizes love, and birds symbolize freedom. The tribe’s direction from the moon to the sun illustrates faith for a brighter tomorrow. The dead body hauled in the carriage suggests the ancestral history that is deeply ingrained within a culture. Joy, sorrow, music, labor, knowledge, family, faith and hope are elements that inherent in the illustration and identify every society, in every corner of the planet.

New mural for Bloop festival-Ibiza, Spain
This mural was created for Bloop festival which takes place in Ibiza, Spain. “Bloop” is a unique international art proactive festival, presenting every year a different theme. This years theme was entitled “The Best”, aka “Arrogance”. My visual proposal is based on the well known ancient Greek myth of Ikarus. Ikarus wanted to fly higher than any man had ever been – ignoring his fathers advices not to fly near the sun – and as a consequence, his wings melted due to the heat of the sun and fell into the sea. In my mural, I present a personal version of the myth adjusted into the theme of the festival. Ikarus, unwilling to accept his mistake and wanting to take a revenge on the sun, drags it with him in his falling while meeting his death.
