Jidar Festival-Rabat, Morocco

This mural was made in Rabat, Morocco, for the Jidar Street Art Festival.

Influenced by Morocco’s colors and natural habitat, it is an effort to raise awareness for the endangered animal species threatened by human actions, as the Barbary Macaque presented in it.

Despite the problems we faced during the first days, with hard work and team effort we managed to finish this piece in 5 days!

Many thanks to everyone from the organization for their excellent work, Chahine for his precious help, but mostly Salah for trusting me for the second time!

In the penultimate photo, you will find the quote I used to transfer the design to the wall. Although remained on the wall for only one day, it was much discussed by the people of the neighborhood and the media and I find this very optimistic.

I believe that by nature, humans are kind, but since birth, we get programmed to eat animals and hurt them in any possible way. Fortunately, we now know that we don’t have to do this and it’s never too late to stop it.

Because the truth is:

It takes nothing away from a human to be kind to animals.
